HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Adult News attended the Los Angeles Erotica Film Festival party at the Knitting Factory on Hollywood Blvd. on Saturday night after shooting "Almost Live" with Gary Garver. Due to venue restrictions, ANF was not able to shoot on the red carpet. We did have full access inside the venue and we were joined inside the club by ANF special host, James Bartholet who interviewed festival contributors, porn legends and new talent.

Early arrivals included alt performers included Dana Dearmond, and Page Morgan who was in a very retro red short evening dress with sexy trashy black ripped stocking. They were joined by alt auteur Eon McKai, who was instrumental in putting together one of the Fest’s headlining presentations “Llik Your Idols: Cinema of Transgression,” which screens today, as well as having several of his short films shown throughout the weekend.

Before the party was in full swing, a large crowd gathered in the red carpet area, including legends , Seka, Ron Jeremy and Roy Karch who were all scheduled to appear on the Classic Showcase panel on Sunday.

Another pioneer of erotica, on the red carpet was famed sex therapist Dr. Susan Block, who told ANF about her festival submission, "Blonde Island: Funk Me" which she described as an erotic, political music video. She also invited James to join her for her next party that she throws regularly at her studio, she calls the "Speakeasy." Adult News Flash has been shooting Dr. Block's parties for the past three years and from our experience should not be missed. Go to where Dr. Block post updates on all her parties and events.

Photographer Holly Randall, whose classic looks were movie star glamorous, was seen talking to adult blogger Luke Ford.

Sexy Pictures director and male talent, Tee Reel was seen on the red carpet with new LA Direct model Kacy Black. Another busy male star, Tommy Gunn came to party and to support the film makers in the festival. Tommy has a new big budget feature coming out from Adam & Eve call "Eden" which was shot at exotic locations in Hawaii and co stars Courten Cummz, Carmen Luvana, Ava Rose and BRee Olsen. "Eden" has a release date on 9/20.

Cousin Stevie made an appearance, joking that he had entered a film short titled The Further Adventures of Smegma and was seen taking a photo op with one of his idols, classic star Seka. Seka told ANF that she just flew in to LA for the festival and for a photo shoot.

Inside the venue, the Knitting Factory’s layout made it possible for guest to enjoy various performances. In the main room, DJs Quixotic and Kris Bertrand spun classic dance grooves while the main bar was busy serving premium drinks to the crowd which got thicker as the evening progressed.

We spoke to Burning Angel's Joanna Angel who had two film in the festival, "Not Another Porn Movie" and "Re-Penetrator" When asked if she watches porn in her personal life, Joanna told ANF that she likes to watch the amature porn on the internet, "I like the bad stuff". She is going to continue producing the pardies, but would not reveal what was coming next. We will have to wait and see.

Performer Sunny Lane arrived, making one of her first appearances as the new exclusive contract dancer for Deja Vu gentlemen's clubs. “I’m so excited to be here and see all these hot, sexy films from mainstream and adult/”

We were happy to see Sofia Lynn back in the business after leaving porn last January and being profiled on ABC's 20/20 earlier this year. She looked healthy, sexy and happy and just performed in a self-claimed "sexiest three way" girl/girl/girl scene for her upcoming website coming soon.

In the Boom Boom Room, Ronnie Rock Productions put on a bondage suspension show with a curvaceous fetish model expertly strung up in various positions and spinning from the ceiling.

Midway through the evening, the inaugural LAEFF/XFANZ Recognition Awards were presented by XBIZ editor Steve Javors and Joanna Angel. The handsome Plexiglas trophies were presented to adult industry members for lifetime achievements and outstanding work. Recepients included Marilyn Chambers, Roy Karch and Seka.

A posthumous award was given to Russ Meyer, the creator of such erotic classics as Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! and Mudhoney. Eon McKai received a special Vanguard Award for his work as an originator of the alt porn movement.

The evening was highlighted by performances from The Muytator and its sister act, Cirque Berserk!. The Cirque’s eclectic mix of sideshow stunts and burlesque warmed up the audience with acrobats swinging from silken chords above the heads of the crow

Then the Muytator took the stage with their tribal drum/electronica infusion of live horn players, hoola-hoopers, aerialists, and lighted poi spinners. A belly dancer named Monica held the crowd enthralled with her sensuous dancing, and the performance was culminated in a huge performer “group hump” pile-up.

It was a fun crowd,” said The Muytator’s Atom. “We weren’t sure at first, because there was that whole too-hip-to-clap thing going on. But as soon as we started to do our thing there was a great energy. We’re used to people getting naked at our performances, and there were a few who did, so it was all good fun.”

ANF agrees with the band, as it was a fun and energentic crowd. Even though the evening got off to a wierd start, ANF wants to thank the crew from XFANZ for throwing a fun party, especially Dusty for being the ultimate professional and taking care of us .
